Top Five Films Of 2015

It’s tradition. Turkey, pudding – and a look back at the best films of the year. And who am I to do otherwise?

For my top five this year, I’ve set two rules. I’m only choosing from films that have been released in UK cinemas during 2015 (so, for instance, the ones I saw at the London Film Festival but which haven’t been given a general distribution aren’t in contention) and I’m only including movies which I’ve reviewed for London Mums.

Film Review – Snoopy And Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie

Mums and dads – and, more than likely, grandparents as well – will have fond memories of Peanuts, the Charles M Schultz cartoon about Charlie Brown, his friends and, of course, the one and only Snoopy. A daily strip in a national newspaper which also became a series of books and then moved to TV, it’s now arrived on the big screen for the first time in the shape of Snoopy And Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie. Does it live up to those memories? London Mums’ film critic, Freda Cooper – a Snoopy fan in her student days! – couldn’t wait to find out.

Veteran actress Lily Tomlin on Talking Pictures

Veteran actress Lily Tomlin settles into the Big Interview hot seat this week to talk about her new film, Grandma. It’s earned her a Golden Globe nomination this week for Best Actress and London Mums’ film critic, Freda Cooper, has her say on the movie as well.

Joining Tomlin on the show is co-star Sam Elliott, who is also still in cinemas in The Good Dinosaur. The new DVDs this week are The Man From UNCLE and Mia Madre and, as well as the latest top five at the British box office, there’s a special run-down of the Golden Globe nominations.
