CHARITY CALLS ON LOCALS TO GET CREATIVE AND HELP CHILDREN IN CARE

Action for Children called on locals in London to get creative with artist Scott Walker to support some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the area. People of all ages were encouraged to help the artist draw a giant canvas representing the shortage of nearly 9,000 foster carers across the UK at The Mall Shopping Centre in Wood Green on 26 May 2012.

To mark ‘International Missing Children’s Day’ today journalist and television presenter Esther Rantzen has written an emotive article highlighting the issue of missing children in the UK. The article ‘The Invisible Children’ (below) draws on Esther’s previous experiences of working with vulnerable children in order to raise awareness of the risks posed to youngsters living alone on the streets.
