Dear London Mums

Spring does not seem to launch and Summer is already at the door. My son is in year 6 and I feel these primary school years have gone so quickly. Before I know my son will be finishing secondary school and will be gone to Uni… I reflect on time and my past 10 years running the London Mums community. Wow! Time flies. In this newsletter, I have packed lots of ideas for the forthcoming May Half Term activities for families in London and beyond as well as ideas for the Summer holidays. In the meantime I am working on our 10th anniversary magazine issue including interviews with Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon and former tennis ace Annabel Croft, among other fab content.

October 2015 Newsletter including things to do over Halloween Half Term Holidays

Dear London Mums

After handing over the children over to the teachers, it feels we have started breathing again after the long Summer holidays. But actually with less than a month away to Halloween and less than three to Christmas, more holidays are creeping up again.

Halloween Half Term week is not that scary though. Look at our list of things to do in London and you will be spoilt for choice, from lots of free events to expensive ones. There’s something for every pocket.

Our London Mums magazine Christmas issue will be here soon with a surprise double cover and our first celebrity dad on the cover. I cannot wait to share it with you all. Every issue is like a new baby!

Gardening Lab for Kids Shoe Garden Project

Spring is a great time to spend more time outdoor and get the kids a bit muddy exploring nature, mini beasts and creating something amazing too in the garden. I am personally not very good at gardening so rely very much on either my capable husband or on manuals when it comes to creating something new in the garden. A new book called Gardening Lab for Kids has the perfect project for my 7 year old son and me called Shoe Garden which is easily explained and illustrated here.

Spring is in the air and half term holidays at the door. What a great combination!

April is a challenging month for parents. Yes indeed it is in the middle of blooming Spring, a season which is glorious celebration of re-birth but also tiring as our bodies adjust to the weather change.  Plus parents have to cope with finding lots of Easter half term activities and endure either endless organisation of carers or entertain the kids themselves.
