Dear London Mums

Spring does not seem to launch and Summer is already at the door. My son is in year 6 and I feel these primary school years have gone so quickly. Before I know my son will be finishing secondary school and will be gone to Uni… I reflect on time and my past 10 years running the London Mums community. Wow! Time flies. In this newsletter, I have packed lots of ideas for the forthcoming May Half Term activities for families in London and beyond as well as ideas for the Summer holidays. In the meantime I am working on our 10th anniversary magazine issue including interviews with Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon and former tennis ace Annabel Croft, among other fab content.

Free nature workshop at Kew Gardens this Easter Saturday – perfect for keeping the kids happy!

Nina Chakrabarti, illustrator of children’s activity book Hello Nature, will be running two free workshops on Easter Saturday (26th March 2016) at the Victoria Plaza Bookshop, Kew Gardens. Perfect for children aged 6+, these workshops will involve exploring the patterns, colours and sounds you can find in nature. 

This will be a great Springtime activity for the family, is completely free and there is no need to book your place – just turn up at one of the two workshops at 11:30am or 1pm. Nina will also be available to sign copies of her new book, which is all about exploring the exciting natural world around us.

Free London: Visit Putney Artists

Wandsworth Artists’ Open House returns for the first two weekends of October.

In Putney alone, 68 artists will show their work across 36 homes and studios. Visitors can take in an impressive diversity of art in 10 categories including paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, sculpture, jewellery and ceramics. Prices range from £20 up to £10,000, with most under £350. Entry is free.
