Once again I had the great pleasure to attend the Product of the Year Awards which this year celebrates its 10th Anniversary.

Being such a special year for Product of the Year, the line up of entertainers and singers was particularly amazing this year. It was a great treat for all attendees to see Northern Comedian and TV presenter Alexander Armstrong’s short show and presentation of the winners as well as performances by former X-Factor winner and songwriter Matt Cardle and iconic singer Sport Spice Mel C.

Personally for me it was a great opportunity to meet some of my favourite mummy bloggers from Being a Mummy, All Baby Advice, Being Mrs C.

And as I was on the table of Mars and Purina I met interesting ladies in both teams. First all all I found out that the people behind the Mars bars are the same who make Uncle Ben’s sauces (Korma is my favourite BTW), Dolmio and lots of other brands. Then I heard from two very charming ladies representing pet food brand Purina that in their offices employees come in with their dogs who also have their own pet ID to show at the office door. This is very cool and it shows real commitment from the brand to its pet customers! I loved this story.

The Product of the Year Awards is only the final part of a long democratic process that starts with a panel of experts testing and selecting the products which then get presented to the consumers for their final vote. No need to say that attending the awards ceremony is amazing as you get to meet the people behind the marketing of the products at a stunning ceremony in Central London. This year the ceremony took place at 8 Northumberland Ave (near Trafalgar Square).

Of course not all winning products were my favourites because the public clearly chooses brands according to different criteria.
