A recent study commissioned by the Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) has predicted that Britain’s favourite toy brand for girls is Barbie followed by Hello Kitty and Lego, Peppa Pig, Minnie Mouse, Lego Friends, Disney Princess, Monster High, My Little Pony and Mickey Mouse. Interestingly, 80% of the top ten girls’ toy licenses revolve around a character. Here are trendy gifts for girls London Mums predict will be on top of kids’ Christmas Wishlists.
TRENDY DOLLS with a healthy body image (and not just for girls)
Being a dolls’ collector, I have dedicated a special section to trendy dolls with a healthy body image (the surprise there is the revolutionary doll aimed at boys 🙂 Check it out here.
Elsa and the adventurous Kristoff, from the new Disney film Frozen, capture the essence of their beloved characters with outfits and details recognizable from the Disney Frozen film.
Elsa sparkles in an ethereal gown, with a look both as delicate as a snowflake and as majestic as her own icy powers. A scoop neck strip of white showcases the gorgeous bodice of light blue sparkles accented with a deep blue ribbon sash. The long blue skirt stops just above the floor to provide a peek at her translucent blue heels. A sheer white overcoat detailed with snowflake sparkles completes the elegant look, while her flowing blond hair, pulled into a side braid and topped with a translucent, glittery blue tiara is the perfect final touch. Disney’s Frozen Sparkle Elsa Doll is suitable for children aged 3 + and is available from Asda’s stores for only ÂŁ17. Hurry as it is only a limited offer.

BARBIE & ME WORLD’S FIRST EVER COLOUR-CHANGING HANDBAGÂ
Let’s put it this way! In a different world I would wear this colour-changing handbag from Barbie & Me. It is lots of fun for any girl (and their mum) who loves Barbie and wants some of Barbie’s accessories in people’s size to play with. Both Hamleys and Amazon nominated it as one of TOP 10 CHRISTMAS TOYS FOR 2014. The Barbie & Me Colour-Change Glam Bag™ magically changes colour to match any outfit. It is really simple to make it work: girls simply need to hold the bag against any item of clothing they are wearing and press the button to match over 100 different shades. The bag comes with lots of clip-on Barbie accessories, so that it can be personalised to suit any style statement. There is even a mini matching bag for Barbie herself.  A perfect accessory for little girls aged 3-7 years. RRP ÂŁ29.99 – Available from all good UK retailers, including Amazon and Hamleys.
Barbie Ultimate Beach Party House
I wish I had this Barbie beach house (available from Asda) when I was a girl. I remember emptying my wardrobe (to my mum’s despair) and building my Barbie house there. It was so much fun! This Barbie house is the ultimate bargain at Asda. It used to cost ÂŁ60 and it is now only ÂŁ30.
It includes a 2+ft house filled with lots of accessories and a Barbie too. It is too good to be true so hurry up if you want to still find one in store!
