Fans of Wonder Woman get ready …. From Warner Bros Pictures and DC Entertainment comes the epic action adventure starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright, directed by Patty Jenkins.
The plot is still under wrap but the wonderful teaser trailer reveals a few things. It begins with her.
After leaving her all-female island, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) discovers her full powers and true destiny while fighting alongside soldiers during World War I.
The Trailer
If everybody is excited as I am about the release of the Wonder Woman movie, this film will be a total box office success. The main reason being that I grew up watching the TV series in the Eighties and could not get enough every week. Admittedly it was very cheesy like most TV series from that era but still very good especially for young people. I still remember the first episodes of the first season. Here is a reminder video. Full episodes can be watched on YouTube.
This trailer gives us a deeper insight into the plot and characters of the movie. One fact we know is that the modern day scenes are dated post Batman v Superman. We also know that Diana Prince thinks about her previous missions to rescue mankind. Somehow it is a reflection that explains the backstory on the photo that Bruce Wayne sends to her and we understand why it took Diana so long to come out of the shadows and into the modern world again.
In this black and white old photo Wonder Woman is pictured with ex lover and American military intelligence officer Steve Trevor and WWI soldiers.
One character from the comic books that is featured in this movie is plus-size funny lady Etta Candy (played by Lucy Davis). She was Wonder Woman’s best friend and feisty supporter who seems quite a contrasting figure compared to the skinny characters from the comics. Etta seems to be the one who helps Diana Prince help adjust to the male-dominated world.
What I love about Wonder Woman is the fact that she is a strong female superhero. There aren’t as many as male ones in movies, so this makes this movie an exciting one to look forward to ahead of next Summer.
Wonder Woman hits cinemas on 2 June 2017.
