I am always very impressed with star children and I am glad I had the opportunity to interview Scarlett Estevez from Los Angeles who voicing the character of Izzy in The Grinch, the latest animation from Illumination and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, which will be available on 4K Ultra HD, 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD from 11th March 2019. From a young age, she displayed a knack for the performing arts and got her first national commercial at age 3. Since then she has appeared in more than 25 national commercials and among other roles she has landed a supporting lead in the films Daddy’s Home (2015) and Daddy’s Home Two (2017), playing the daughter of Mark Wahlberg and Linda Cardellini’s character and stepdaughter of Will Ferrell’s character. She can also be seen as a series regular on Fox’s Lucifer (2015).
What did you enjoy most during your time voicing your character in the Grinch?
Scarlett Estevez: I think my character is really sweet and cute and I like that she has this little scarf around her. I like how one time I went in to record my voice and I saw a poster with all of Cindy’s crew in one picture and it was really cool.
What was the biggest challenge for you voicing a character?
Scarlett Estevez: When I voice animated characters I usually keep my voice a bit more high pitch so I have to try and not make my voice sound so scratchy.
Who is your favourite character in the Grinch and why?
Scarlett Estevez: My favourite character was the reindeer that Grinch found. I thought he was very funny and his character made me laugh a bunch.
When and how did you decide that you wanted to become an actress?
Scarlett Estevez: My aunt is an actress so it is a little bit in my blood and she made me want to be an actress even more
What was on your Santa’s wish list last Christmas?
Scarlett Estevez: I wanted a lot of stuffed animals, clothes and shoes. Stuff like that so I could use it for the next year
If you were the Queen of Britain for the day, what would you do?
Scarlett Estevez: I probably would get the most royal treatment possible. A manicure, pedicure, spa day, face mask and cucumbers on my eyes.
What are you up to next?
Scarlett Estevez: I am not sure yet. It is pilot season coming up so just waiting to see what happens.
