If you follow Freda Cooper’s film reviews here on London Mums, you’ve probably listened to her brand new movie podcast, Talking Pictures. And if you haven’t, you really should! It’s now on iTunes and TuneIn, as well as SoundCloud.
In around twenty minutes every week, she gives you the lowdown on the week’s big new releases at the cinema and on DVD, there’s a celebrity interview, the new top five at the British box office and the latest movie news – plus the occasional guest or two – I will be the guest in next week’s preview of family movies for this Summer (don’t miss us!). It’s all hosted in Freda’s own inimitable style.
Now the show’s in the running for the first ever UK Podcasters Awards.
Like many awards, it’s dependent on a public vote – which is where you come in! Talking Pictures needs your votes – lots of them! And it’s a doddle. This link ukpod.co/1LDZa4i will take you to the Talking Pictures page on the UK Podcasting Directory, where there’s a voting button at the top of the page. Just click it and you’re done!
I’d love to see Talking Pictures recognised with an award. As a film fan, I listen to it every week as it’s a great way of keeping up to date with the latest films, DVDs and movie news. Even better is it’s a great listen – informative, entertaining and fun.
As it’s a podcast, it’s perfect for us multi-tasking mums: I can plug in my headphones and listen when I want, where I want – usually when I’m doing at least one other thing at the same time!
Voting is open from now until the end of the month, so you’ve plenty of time. And if you want to know more about the awards themselves, just go to the UK Podcasters website.
I’ve already cast my vote and so has the rest of the team here at London Mums, so join us in supporting Talking Pictures and helping it receive one of these prestigious awards. Freda always describes the show as the essential guide to the movies. I’d like to see it be a winner as well!
Please please please help Freda win this award!! Thanks a lot!
