When someone you love has just has had a baby, it can be really tough to know what to buy as a congratulatory gift. Most expectant parents will have done a huge amount of shopping and will appear to have everything they need already. However, that shopping will probably have mostly been focused on the baby! Getting a few gifts for new mums will show that you really care, and will be highly appreciated.

Sweets and chocolate
A considerable amount of a new mum’s life is getting up in the night while fighting the urge to go back to sleep! Caffeine isn’t an option while breastfeeding, but a little pick me up in the form of some sweets or chocolate can really do the trick in a pinch. This is all the better if you get some decadent and luxurious chocolates or sweets that truly feel like a treat.
Food
Once you have a baby, finding the time or inclination to cook a meal is pretty tough. Help out your friends by cooking them up a batch of freezer-friendly meals that they can just grab and eat whenever they need to.
Or, even better, get them a Just Eat gift card from GiftsVouchers so that they can choose and enjoy a meal from their favourite restaurant.
Plant a tree
If you’re looking for a gift that will be remembered for years to come, then a lovely idea is to plant a tree to commemorate the baby’s birth.
This way, you’ll be doing a little bit to make the planet a greener place, and as the child grows up, both mum and baby will be able to enjoy watching it grow.
Herbal tea
As new mums shouldn’t have caffeine, it can be a lovely idea to get a selection of delicious herbal teas for them to enjoy. This way, they can enjoy a warm and comforting drink as they always would have and try some lovely new flavours as well.
Posh hand cream
Changing multiple nappies in a day will play havoc with your skin! Constantly washing your hands can dry your hands out, which becomes quite uncomfortable after a while.

Do a little research and find out which are the best hand creams for mums. It will be appreciated, especially if you find one with a comforting scent.
Dry shampoo
Finding time to wash your hair when you are feeding a baby pretty much constantly is a bit of a tall order. For those days when you want to look as though you’ve washed your hair even though you haven’t, and to make your scalp feel nice and clean, dry shampoo is an absolute lifesaver.
Insulated Travel Mug
Drinking a cup of tea or coffee while it’s still warm is something that many new parents can only dream of. Give the gift of a lovely warm drink by giving the new parents in your life an insulated travel mug. That way, they can take two hours to get to their drink, and it will still be warm!
