On a crisp and sunny October day, I attended the grand opening of Trolls Happy Place in Piccadilly, London. This pop-up activity shop located next to Fortrum & Mason was a vibrant celebration of World Smile Day and the upcoming release of DreamWorks Animation’s new film, “Trolls Band Together.” The event was graced by the presence of the multi-talented choreographer and former Pussycat Doll, Ashley Roberts, who not only cut the ribbon to mark the occasion but also led an exciting Trolls-inspired TikTok dance. The purpose of this unique gathering was not only to spread joy and positivity but also to support Global’s Make Some Noise charity initiative, making it a heartwarming experience from start to finish.
In Bronagh Lagan’s enchanting production of Flowers for Mrs Harris, the enduring potency of simple kindness and decency takes centre stage. While the show’s initial act meticulously establishes its characters, patient theatregoers are richly rewarded with a profoundly touching second act that lingers long after the curtains fall.
Jenna Russell’s portrayal of Ada Harris, the eponymous cleaner, is nothing short of brilliant. Her poignant chemistry with Annie Wensack, who plays the character of Violet Butterfield, and with Hal Fowler, who embodies her late husband and, in the second act, an ageing French aristocrat, is truly moving. While Nik Corrall’s set design is dynamic and nostalgic, it’s Sara Perks’ costume creations — especially the iconic red dress — that steal the spotlight.
For all the die-hard fans of Marvel’s Loki experience, the TVA Universe pop-up event at OXO2, OXO Tower, is a must-see. London Mums checked it out (without the kids). This special pop-up brings a taste of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to life, allowing visitors to step into the shoes of the infamous Loki and explore the Time Variance Authority.
The experience offers a series of recreated locations from the series, complete with a selection of props and costumes straight from the set. Fans will relish the opportunity to snap selfies at these iconic film locations, creating memories that will surely last a lifetime.
