Going away with the family can be expensive. But if you choose an All-Inclusive break, you’ll save hundreds of pounds on meals, flights and accommodation during your family holiday. What’s more, all the hassle will be taken out of travelling, so you can focus on having fun. In 2019, there will be more All-Inclusive breaks available than ever before. Here are some highly rated, family-friendly destinations.
Saalbach, Austria
With its stunning alpine landscape, Austria is great for winter skiing holidays. But it can be fun to visit in the summer, too. The area of Saalbach is particularly picturesque – a quaint Austrian village surrounded by wildflower meadows and snow-capped peaks. It’s easy to get into the great outdoors, with ski-lifts taking you all the way into the mountains.
The area around Saalbach is known as the Valley of Games because there are so many adventures available. You can enjoy horse riding or biking through mountain passes. Older children will love the Mega Flying Fox – a 2.5km zip-wire that crosses the valley. Meanwhile, Käpt’n Hook’s Adventure Pool has a wild-water channel and plenty of flumes and is a great place to soak up the summer sun. During summer, hotels will provide you with the Joker Card, which gives you free admission to more than 50 of the region’s activities.
Menorca
If you’re considering an All-Inclusive beach break, Menorca is a great spot for a family holiday. This tranquil island is surrounded by pristine beaches with shallow turquoise waters, perfect for bathing with small children. Meanwhile, there’s also plenty of watersports on offer to entertain older kids. If you’re looking for an active holiday, hike or cycle along the craggy coastline, stopping to cool off in the Med.
A lot of the All-Inclusive resorts in Menorca cater specifically to families, offering playgrounds and kids clubs. You’ll also find family-friendly attractions, such as the Cala’n Bosch Waterpark, which offers everything from white-knuckle slides to lazy-river rides. The whole family will enjoy relaxing and unwinding in the sun on this idyllic island.
Algarve, Portugal
There’s lots of reasons why the Algarve is a top spot for family holidays. For a start, there’s the mile upon mile of sandy beaches. Kids will enjoy playing in the rockpools, exploring the rocky limestone cave formations and trying out watersports like banana boating, here. Then, there’s the numerous waterparks that dot the coast, including the vast Slide & Splash, where you can also see animal shows.
The food is another big draw. The whole family will love the delicious grilled food, from sardines to chorizo, and the sweet custard tarts, pastel de nata. The Algarve’s proximity to the UK, its low cost and the sheer amount of kid-friendly hotels available make it a top pick if you’re after a family holiday. What’s more, the fantastic climate means it’s a year-round holiday destination.
Florida, USA
If you’re looking to travel further afield, a family break to Florida should be high on your bucket list. American’s Sunshine State is practically an adventure playground for families, with numerous theme parks and water parks. The best places to stay are the All-Inclusive Disney resorts, which include free passes and shuttle buses to all six Disney theme parks. Younger kids will love meeting larger-than-life characters like Mickey Mouse, while older kids will go crazy for adrenaline-fuelled rides like Splash Mountain.
The All-Inclusive hotels you can stay at are attractions in themselves. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is right in the middle of a safari park, so you’ll see gazelles and giraffes grazing while you have your breakfast.
Hammamet, Tunisia
Tunisia is rapidly becoming popular as a holiday destination, and Hammamet is one of the country’s most popular spots. It boasts fantastic white-sand beaches, where you can enjoy a variety of watersports. There are lots of activities for the whole family, too. Take a camel ride along the beach, or splash around at Aqualand waterpark.
One of the top attractions for families is Friguia Park, a large wildlife park with over 400 animals. Watch the big cats prowl and get a chance to swim with dolphins. Many of the All-Inclusive hotels are also geared up for children, with their own private splash parks and children’s activity programmes.
These are just five of the many All-Inclusive options on offer that families will love. Whether you choose to visit a beach destination close to home or strike out somewhere further away, you’re guaranteed a fun and stress-free holiday with the kids.
