Having kids changes everything. It’s a life-altering event that impacts every area of your life, from the way you sleep to the way you spend your money. While some things remain the same, others are drastically different once you become a parent.
Here are six things that will change when you have kids:
1) Mind
When you have kids, your mind is constantly occupied with thoughts of them. You worry about their safety, their health and their future. You also think about all the things you need to do to take care of them and ensure they have a happy life. This can be both exhausting and exhilarating, but it’s a constant mental stimulation that you wouldn’t trade for the world.
2) Body
Your body undergoes some major changes when you have kids. For starters, you gain weight. A lot of weight. This is largely due to the fact that you’re constantly eating and drinking because you’re either too tired or too busy to stop and eat properly. You also tend to lose muscle mass because you don’t have time to work out. And, of course, there’s the whole pregnancy and childbirth process, which totally changes your body forever.
3) House
Your house becomes a lot messier when you have kids. There are toys everywhere, clothes strewn about, and dishes are piling up in the sink. It can be tough to keep on top of the cleaning, but it’s all worth it when you see your kids playing and laughing in their messy home.
4) Car
Your car also becomes messier when you have kids. It’s filled with crumbs, spilled drinks and used diapers. You might even find yourself driving around with a half-eaten sandwich under the seat or a blanket covered in spit-up. You’ll find yourself in desperate need of a car finance calculator when you need to upgrade your car. But, again, it’s all worth it when you see your little one sleeping peacefully in the backseat.
5) Finances
Having kids costs a lot of money. There’s the cost of diapers, wipes, formula, clothes and shoes. And then there are all the extras, like childcare, doctor’s visits and college tuition. It can be tough to afford all these expenses, but it’s all worth it when you see your kids happy and healthy.
6) Happiness
Having kids changes your life in so many ways, but the biggest change of all is that you become infinitely happier. You have someone to love and care for unconditionally, someone who loves and cares for you unconditionally. This newfound happiness is something that you can’t put a price tag on.
In conclusion
Having kids is a life-changing experience that will impact every area of your life. From your mind to your body, your house to your car, and your finances, nothing is the same once you become a parent. But, despite the challenges, it’s all worth it when you see your kids smiling and know that you’re doing everything you can to make them happy!
