Royal Wedding galore including art and craft ideas – Make Your Own Harry and Meghan Wedding Dolls & Jewellery

To celebrate the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, millions of British royal fans will throw street parties and eat delicious food. A royal wedding is only a good excuse to get closer to neighbours we never talk to or make new friends in the local communities. It’s a great opportunity to get creative with the kids so we have tried some new crafts inspired both by my super talented friend Maggy of Red Ted Art and also the kits by Cotton Twist

Now if you want to get really crafty, check out these cork figures of the bride and groom (here below) created by Maggy of Red Ted Art, who suggests to use them as cake toppers. They can also be made to play imagination games.

These cork figures are Maggy’s ones – made to perfection. My own figures are not as polished as you can see in the picture above …. You can clearly spot the one at the top are my work and not Maggy. Shabby chic ah ah

Mine don’t look as good as Maggy’s but I had lots of fun creating them.

If you want to make more professionally looking figures, I’d recommend the Cotton Twist’s kit ‘Make Your Own Harry and Meghan Wedding Peg Dolls‘. Like the cork figures, the Harry and Meghan Royal Wedding Peg Dolls are the perfect keepsake of this special occasion.   The personalised craft kit is a super fun activity to get little ones excited during the Royal Wedding street party which might be long for kids.

Keeping them entertained on the big day is important if you involved organising the party and watch the royal nuptials on TV. Each pack comes with an A6 card and two pegs plus all the wedding attire required to dress the royal couple and act out the vows as the ceremony unfolds.

Designed to spark learning and play, Cotton Twist sells simple, colourful and sustainable quality gifts for life’s celebrations including party bags, craft kits and personalised keepsakes. RRP £4.95

What I love about Cotton Twist is that it’s quintessentially British / London brand founded in 2015 by mum to three, Anne-Clare Ribbons from her kitchen table in Chiswick (SW London) in a bid to banish plastic tat from our homes. Drawing upon a palette of raw materials from lolly sticks to boxes, twine to felt, all products are lovingly made by hand using components exclusive to Cotton Twist with an emphasis on quality activities and gifts adults will love to give, and children will love to receive.

There’s so much passion put into these kits. Check out this necklace kit with little ice cream and shell beads that reminds me of Summer and parties. The nostalgic, chic and simple range is carefully designed to spark learning and play in a fun and imaginative way, uncovering a world of creativity and make believe. The party bags, craft kits and keepsakes are perfect for parties, stocking fillers, wedding day activities, travelling or rainy days. Plus there is an option to personalise all items.

The Seaside & shells – bracelet making kit (RRP £16.95) is perfect for three to 10 year olds and contains enough beads to make 10 bracelets, a selection of ice creams, shells, & geometric beads await. The ice creams and the shells are so realistic. A selection of pastel & mermaid coloured spacer beads complement the showpiece beads for the ultimate in seaside and under the sea accessories. Children can wear the bracelets with their favourite Royal Wedding themed outfits, gift them to friends they love, or make them with friends at a party. This kit comes with a special elastic with shoelace ends to help young children thread the beads.

Last but not least check this amazing brick portrait of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle created by LEGO® including 70,000 pieces that were assembled by visitors to Windsor Shopping Centre. Over the course of two days, the general public had the chance to build one of o ver 1,000 pre-designed segments of a 2×2 metre mosaic. This touching portrait of Harry and Meghan is displayed in the shopping centre the day of the royal ceremony, in celebration of the event. Windsor Shopping Centre commissioned Bright Bricks to build a LEGO® brick mosaic of the Royalcouple’s tender engagement photo. The image was translated into a digital map, based on which the mosaic will be built.
