The New Sprouts Fresh Fruit Salad box by Learning Resources (for Early Years 2+) has given our child reporter Diego lots of ideas for pretend play. Watch his funny video while he pretends to be a little chef.
Pretend play is an essential pre-school activity for children. During this time, children pretend living in what is perceived by parents as a ‘fantasy world’ while they are actually practising social scenarios and role play which is extremely important to get on in real life.
Pretend play a little chef is great as it teaches kids to prepare food versus buy ready meals or fast food.
In this light-hearted video (in Benny Hill style) Diego pretends to be a little chef and shows how to make a fruit salad. The pieces in the New Sprouts® Fresh Fruit Salad Set are bursting with colour and certainly please the eyes especially of children between 2 and 6.
There’s nothing more refreshing than a fresh fruit salad!
Includes:
Three berry clusters
Three strawberries
Three kiwi slices
Three orange slices
Two pineapple rings
Two bowls
Serving spoon
Watermelon boat (measures 20cm L)
Apart from encouraging imaginative play, other benefits of pretend play with this kit include learning early vocabulary and social skills.
