I leave you with this amazing motto by Pablo Picasso
“All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once you grow up.”
This Autumn, the Affordable Art Fair returns to both sides of the river for what is anticipated to be its biggest and most exciting year yet. A favourite amongst families, the Affordable Art Fair guarantees a fun-filled day, offering a host of free activities as part of its ever popular Education Programme. This year will see hands-on workshops, talks, tours and demonstrations of arty techniques available to keep budding artists of all ages inspired.
‘Paper, Scissors, Rock’ is this Autumn’s theme, and there will be a series of hands-on workshops led by professional artists, each an expert in their field, from collage to sculpture, painting and paper cutting. Resident printmakers will offer guidance in their workshops, so your little ones will have the opportunity to take home their very own work of art. Alternatively, children and parents alike can get involved with a range of demonstrations and explore a mock studio to immerse themselves in the world of a sculptor. The ever popular Kids’ Activity Guides will also be on offer to help young ones aged between 4-11 to unleash their creative flair. The Affordable Art Fair also offers a crèche facility for children from 2-10 years of age, allowing grown-ups to browse hassle free.
For the grown-ups, the fair will be showcasing contemporary collections from both household names and emerging talent, all priced from £40 to £4,000. Over 100 handpicked galleries will show an extensive selection of high quality art at each London fair, and investment opportunities abound for first time buyers and seasoned collectors alike. A different selection of galleries and artists exhibit at each fair, from round the corner and across the world, spanning illustration to sculpture, painting, photography and edition prints.
