Pole dancing is fast becoming a mainstream form of fitness. With celebrities such as Eva Longoria and Kate Hudson embracing it and UK’s Amanda Holden mother-of-two also having a go, many women are now using pole dance as a way to improve their fitness (not to mention bask in the fun of strutting sultry round the pole to make you feel glam and sexy whilst actually working out!) Benefits of Pole Dancing include: Improved muscle tone (polers are known for their 6 packs!), healthier cardiovascular fitness, enhanced upper body and core strength, Increased flexibility and it builds confidence.
Justine McLucas founded Ecole de Pole in Jan 2010. A former investment banker, Justine set up the dance school at 27 years of age as alternative employment, disheartened by the soulless life of a city worker after 9 years in banking. Now 31, having pole danced for 5 years, Justine vows pole has given her the fittest body she ever had and aims to, “help women all over find a fun and challenging passion which helps to change their lives for the better!”
Justine was joint Winner and Best Entertainer in Miss Pole Dance UK 2011, semi-finalist in World Pole Sports Champs 2011, is ranked 17th in the World and made it to the Top 34 on Sky 1’s Got To Dance 2012.
With Camden Town and London Bridge studios, Ecole de Pole runs small classes suitable for all levels from absolute Beginners to professional, guaranteeing no more than 2 sharing a pole ensuring quality tuition for every student by a team of professional dance and fitness instructors. Jaymie Andrew, qualified PT and Pole Dance Instructor, with Pre/postnatal fitness certification, gave birth early in 2012 to twin boys herself, and will be running the new POST NATAL POLE DANCE classes – where everyone can bring their bubs to class to start on a fun journey dancing their way back into shape whilst taking the stress and worry of planning babysitting out of the picture.
In addition to pole dancing, Ecole de Pole runs Aerial Hoop & Contortion, Contemporary Dance, Conditioning & Stretch classes.
