Take a look at our five favourite leftover turkey recipes below to not only get your money’s worth out of your turkey this Christmas, but to ensure the family don’t get bored and enjoy your delicious turkey you spent all day cooking in several different exciting ways…We’ll assure you, there won’t be a bite wasted!

Turkey Pie

What’s better than a warm hearty pie when it’s cold outside? A simple Big Puff Pie!

We absolutely love this recipe – it’s really easy to make and it’s too pastry heavy. The basics of this one is a puff pastry hat sits on top of a lovely veggie stew and you can just add your meat of choice – in this case, turkey!

 

Turkey Soup

Need a lighter option after stuffing yourself full of food the previous day? Look no further than our deliciously simple turkey soup. Just chuck everything in a pot whilst you snuggle down with the kids to watch a Christmassy film and it will be done!

Ingredients:

Shredded turkey

2 Diced carrots

1 Diced parsnip

1 Diced leeks

Handful of diced parsley

1 chicken stock cube with 500ml water

1 vegetable stock cube with 500ml water

1L additional water

Black pepper

Salt

 

Method:

  1. Chop vegetables into small diced pieces
  2. Add everything into to a big saucepan at the same time and leave to boil for 45 minutes to an hour
  3. Serve with crusty bread

 

Turkey Katsu Curry

Katsu curry fans rejoice! A modern favourite, the katsu curry isn’t one you’d immediately think of when planning leftover turkey recipes, but why not try something a little bit different this Christmas rather than the usual curry?

It’s never been easier to recreate the no. 1 Japanese dish authentically at home with Miso Tasty’s ultimate Katsu Curry Meal Kit £2.49 from Sainsbury’s stores across the UK and online at Ocado), all you need to do is add your turkey, vegetables and rice and you’re good to go!

Ingredients:

Miso Katsu Curry Kit

Turkey

Rice

Any vegetables of your choice

 

Method:

  1. Coat sliced turkey breast half the pack of panko breadcrumbs evenly on all sides.
  2. In a frying pan, add the turkey with a tbsp. of cooking oil until golden on both sides
  3. In a saucepan, heat up 1 pack of curry sauce with 60ml of water, until bubbling hot. Add more water as desired.
  4. Serve with rice and veg.

 

Traditional Turkey Curry

A family favourite, the Boxing day turkey curry – we couldn’t leave it out now could we?

Just use your usual chicken curry recipe, but replace the chicken with your shredded turkey. The result? A happy family, and the rest of your turkey gone!
