Here’s an inspiring story by my friend and mumpreneur Karen Williams who has created the yummiest alternative plant cakes under her own brand Roar Cup Cakes – Just Raw.
It’s time to celebrate with healthy, raw, organic, vegan and gluten free cakes.
Plant Cakes are cool. It’s not boring to eat plants, it’s kind to our children, animals and our planet.
In 2004 my children were aged 7 and 4 I had a birthday cake business.
The main request was for Barbie cakes which I made for their school class, family and friends. These cakes were predominantly made using a traditional Victoria sponge base, buttermilk, Jam and sugar paste.
With a fantasy Barbie doll popped on the top, girls just loved them.
15 years later…
Together with my 18 year old daughter we’ve created a small business called
Roar cupcakes ‘ Just Raw’.
We started learning about using different ingredients and cooking together again.
We created a carrot and plant based cake using only the best organic vegan and gluten free ingredients.
With new knowledge it is interesting to compare these two concepts.
The wonderful news is that we now have a choice.
To complement the tennis season, we’ve created a tennis ball cake that serves 12/15.
