Easter is a great celebration of the year because it coincides with the arrival of Spring, the season of rebirth and renewal. It’s a time of family and friends gathering, decluttering and refreshing Winter wardrobes with new colours and styles. Spring Outfits are my favourite ones as they include a mix of warmer clothes and Summer colours.
First of all, it’s time to ditch the bulky boots and Winter jackets to embrace the first sunshine and warmer temperatures of Spring.
Check out the latest realistic styles of clothing and accessories for busy mums and kids – not haute couture – picked from my observations of what’s going to be trendy this season.
Everyone knows that the right footwear can make or break an outfit. But aesthetically gorgeous shoes don’t always go hand in hand with comfort. Comfortable Shoes are essential for any busy mum always running around like a headless chicken.
There is such a wide range of cheap flat shoes for women out there for us mums to do the walking and running around. Then, like me, you can carry heels in your handbag to change when you arrive at your destination. There’s no way I could run around in heels on the London Public Transport network with lots of stairs and endless pathways.
Ballerina shoes have become the staple piece of footwear which can be worn whatever the occasion and come in many different styles, from plain colours to added bows and diamantes. They are cute and perfect for tall women, but as I am quite petite I use them only to move from A to B and not with my fancy Spring outfits.
From low wedges to sky high platforms, heels look simply fantastic. Go for straps or classic court shoes for a formal dinner, a pair of Mary Janes for work or wear your peep toe heels to add a touch of flirty elegance to the occasion.
Everyone should have a good pair of boots – even the lighter ones to go with Spring outfits. Wear your knee highs over your skinny jeans to keep you protected in the rain, or pair your classic ankle boots with a dress to create a fun, yet practical style. With buckles, zips and laces, boots are one of the most versatile items of footwear around.
The season of colour has started which means there are lots of printed, embroidered and reversible dresses to choose from in shops for both mums and girls to complete the Spring outfits.
Out of all fashion trends, the one that suits busy mums on the go is the so-called hippy modernism or Neo Boho trend.
The look is sensual and saturated in warm desert and sunset hues to remind people its Ibizan origin. With this trend you’ll see amulet jewellery, crochet pieces and raffia accessories, clearly an ode to souvenirs picked up on pilgrimages to Ibiza.
In terms of accessories, nothing can beat a brand-new handbag and one of my favourite trends this season is the stylish hobo and cross-body bags in Rattan. I saw some cute ones in Ibiza last Spring but the Boho trend is now reaching the UK and spreading across Europe.
The look will include clashing geometric print in scarfs, fringing and crochet shoulder sacks.
What are some of your favourite spring looks?
