During the coronavirus-forced lockdown, I have become a DIY Queen. I have played around with household ingredients to make a very simple home-made sugar scrub. Here’s my recipe which you can use on face and body! It will take less than 10 minutes to make but you can go wild customising it with lots of your favourite ingredients.
The expensive sugar scrubs you see in department stores and spas cost pennies to make! Sugar scrubs are a simple beauty recipe with countless variations, and they can be incredibly moisturising and exfoliating to the skin. I use my own sugar scrub on my face, body, and (especially) feet to remove dead skin and moisturise. The result? Silky skin with minimal effort!
Ingredients:
1 cup granulated brown sugar,
½ cup vegetable oil (olive oil is better but more expensive)
Essential oils of your preference (optional) – I used Puressentiel Orange Douce
1 medium sized wide-mouth jar (I recycled an old body cream jar)
Method:
Mix all ingredients and store in the airtight container. Use 1 tablespoon as needed in the shower. Scrub skin with the mixture and rinse will. It will leave your skin feeling like silk.
Goodbye dry skin!
Sound simple? It is!
