October 2012 Newsletter

Dear London Mums

The biggest news at London Mums is that from this October our magazine will be distributed at selected Sainsbury’s, Tescos and Asda across London. Due to its popularity we will also increase its frequency to four issues per year instead of two. Watch out for our winter special issue (number 7) out the third week in October. You will be able to still find it at selected family friendly venues such as Eddie Catz, read it online or download it as pdf. If you can’t find it in your areas, you can also request a copy by post. Just email me.

Don’t be discouraged by the bad weather and by the daily hectic routines because autumn is amazing and usually it brings a lot of positive energy. Now that schools have re-opened and kids are settled back in their classes with new teachers it is great for us to re-gain a bit of inner focus to work on things that are important to us: whether it’s work, creative hobbies, fitness and sport, or charitable activities we all need a little bit of time to re-energise and move forward.

The gloominess created by the grey sky does not need to depress you as there are plenty of activities you can do indoor. Check our creative section for new ideas for activities to do with the kids this autumn and art & craft tips that will cost you NOTHING whilst providing lots of fun.

If you fancy meeting with other mums this autumn check under the section ‘ACTIVITIES’ either under your London area or day of the week. We update these activities’ pages on a daily basis. You can also check our Events’ calendar for special events or things to do in the Capital.

My favorite weekly meeting is at Eddie Catz in Putney on Monday afternoons from 4 to 5pm where we host a very special ‘Playgroup with a twist‘. There we relax and paint with our kids (after school) and our professional artist and friend Giovanna Bindi who teaches us very simple art techniques while listening to relaxing music and poetry. Interesting enough, even the children are quiet and do not make noise. The relaxing environment seems contagious.

Simply drop in if you want to have a chat
for this playgroup ONLY mums pay! Kids GO FREE!. Click on this link to register https://londonmumsmagazine.com/2012/london-mums-playgroup-with-a-twist.

Christmas sounds really far away but it’s just around the corner and we have organised our annual party on 23 November 2012. As every year we sell out a week in advance, we have now opened the registrations. Just check the dedicated page for the Christmas party and register as soon as possible if you know you will be around. Our entertainment extravaganza this year will capture the imagination of young kids, teenagers and adults alike. Hope to see lots of you there!
