Dear London Mums
May is the month that puts us all in the holiday mood: with two bank holidays and a school half term we are slowly getting ready for the long Summer break. Looking for something fun to do this May? We put together a guide with activities and an events’ calendar including the best events happening in London every day this May & beyond.
CREATIVE GARDENING PROJECTS
This May you can try a few creative gardening projects to keep the kids busy outdoor. Getting muddy is especially good for urban children who have less opportunities to be close to nature. It is certainly better than allowing them lots of screen time.
Here are Chic Gardening Essentials that might come in handy for your gardening projects. You can also try to win 1 of 6 prize bundles (including a luxury food hamper & a gardening kit).
If you want to go to town London offers so much and all museums and palaces have always something new to discover even for the ‘veteran’ visitors like many mums are who have probably visited the Science Museum and other attractions often enough to know all pieces on show. Here are some of our favourite ones.
Pushing the Envelope – 6 – 16 May 2015 at the House of Illustration – An exhibition of 138 beautifully illustrated envelopes from around the world:
On 6 May 1840 the Penny Black was used for the first time, with a design showing the head of Queen Victoria. This stamp, proof that postage had been paid, revolutionised the postal system – previously postal charges had been paid by the recipient. House of Illustration, in collaboration with Hereford College of Arts, invited artists and illustrators from across the world to respond to this landmark anniversary by creating and sending their own decorated and embellished envelopes.
There are lots of great movies out in cinema for indoor entertainment too. Here are our favourite reviews:
Before the summer starts, come along to our workshop to learn some of the bread and butter skills you need to run your mumpreneur’s business.
There are lots of Spring recipes for you and your kids to try.
And our very special recipe to make your own Hummus and other Mediterranean themed meal ideas:
But if you are after recipes to loose some weight before the Summer check this article:
