May 2014 Newsletter – London Attractions not just for tourists

Dear London Mums

London is so incredibly beautiful in the Spring no matter how the weather is really.

My son and I defied the weather to visit the Tower of London, Kensington Palace and we were awarded a glorious afternoon on the top of the ShardHere is our movie trailer of our latest mission to visit the most important London landmarks in the shortest period of time 🙂

Watch this space for the full movie release about our London adventures.

Gardening Lab for Kids

GET CREATIVELY MUDDY!

The bank holidays this May are great extra free days to get the kids outdoor and get some gardening. Getting muddy is excellent for them, much better than letting them sit in front of the TV screen or video games. Check our Get Creative section to create a Gardening Lab for Kids. You can make Rock Bugs out of pebbles found on beaches or parks and a Shoe Garden out of old shoes and pretty flowers.

LONDON ATTRACTIONS

If you want to go to town London offers so much and all museums and palaces have always something new to discover even for the ‘veteran’ visitors like many mums are who have probably visited the Science Museum and other attractions often enough to know all pieces on show.

The three best new discoveries for me personally are Kensington Palace, the Tower of London and the Shard.

Shard

All three expensive but if you get an annual pass for the palaces you can go over and over again and make the most of your membership.

Kensington Palace has a new exhibition running dedicated to the Glorious George (a particular era in English history), the Tower of London is hosting the stunning Crown Jewels in a new revamped wing and has lots of ongoing events and activities for kids of all ages, and last but not least the Shard has the best view of the Capital of all (if you can afford it!).

FREE LONDON FOR KIDS

There’s lots to do for free too.

2014 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at Somerset House Arup-Ghosh

Kids up to 12 enter free to most  exhibitions in town including the international contemporary photography at the 2014 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at Somerset House, London from 1st – 18th May 2014. Don’t miss out.

MORE ENTERTAINMENT

GOSH rftk-hero-2014

Running is hard work but if you do with the kids it makes you smile along the way. I recently trained for a school family run with my 7 years old son and he made me sweat. Gosh he kept going for kilometers and kilometers, believe it or not. Great companions and motivators. Plus if you add a charity fundraising activity to the mix the motivation should increase. I suggest to run for the Great Ormond Street annual family race.

OUTSIDE LONDON

Lots of events at the fantastic Arundel Castle this month and throughout the Summer. Check our Events’ calendar for more updates on Arundel Castle.
