Picasso’s portraits epitomise the astonishing variety and innovation of his art. This major exhibition of over eighty works focuses on the artist’s portrayal of family, friends and lovers and reveals his creative processes as he moved freely between drawing from life, humorous caricature and expressive painting from memory.

On display will be portraits from all periods of Picasso’s career and in all media, from the realist paintings of his boyhood to his later ultra-spontaneous canvases. The works on show will range from celebrated masterpieces loaned by international institutions to works in private collections being shown in the United Kingdom for the first time.

For someone who wants to dare a bit more, there’s an unusual Halloween activity going on in London: This Halloween the exclusive Snorkeling with Sharks in the dark experience returns to the SEA LIFE London Aquarium for a limited time ONLY, offering would-be divers the chance to come face-to-fin with over 15 magnificent sharks, after hours.

The evening experience, with limited slots offered on 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 October ONLY, will see participants submerged beneath the water in a mesh divers net, equipped with explorer-style red light torches to spot six species of shark in the eerie darkness.

A transparent perspex floor will give participants clear views right to the bottom of the 5m deep display, where a Bowmouth Guitarfish and several Nurse sharks dwell, whilst all around you impressive 2.7m long Sand Tiger sharks, Brown sharks and sleek Black Tip Reef sharks circle just feet away.

No diving experience* is required. The 1.5 hour experience is for up to four people at a time, with up to four spectators and costs £180 including all equipment and a charitable donation towards shark conservation.
