FESTIVE EVENTS including Christmas Seasonal Attractions
Covent Garden Piazza Lego installation (26 November to 29 December 2015)
It’s that time of year again, when the LEGO Company fires up our imaginations and reveals its annual Christmas build to get everyone in the mood for Christmas. It’s free and brilliant! We love it as always. LEGO UK is also celebrating its fifth year of building a Christmas spectacular in London. The LEGO Christmas story started with a 30m LEGO Christmas Tree in 2011 with subsequent builds in Covent Garden, including a Giant Advent Calendar, a walk-through Snow Globe featuring a snowy London scene of iconic buildings and last year Santa’s Sleigh & Reindeer. So what festive treat does LEGO have in store this year…?
The LEGO Santa Express has just puffed into the Covent Garden Piazza to add some Christmas magic. Made with 500,000 LEGO bricks, it features three carriages, the engine and driver’s cabin, a carriage full of presents and a final carriage delivering the Christmas Tree. The Christmas Elf is in charge and takes position in the driving seat. The LEGO Santa Express is complete with special effects, including smoke from the funnel, sounds and lights.
Once again, this impressive build was designed by the man who probably has the best job in the country, the UK’s only LEGO Certified Professional, Duncan Titmarsh. The masterpiece has been in development for the last 3 months created by Duncan and a team of 8 builders. You can find The LEGO Santa Express on the North/East Covent Garden Piazza, from 26th November to 29th December 2015.
Coca-Cola’s world famous Christmas truck stops off on its nationwide tour, Santa sails down the Grand Union Canal to meet his reindeer (on Thursday 10th December From 11.00 to 15.00 in Sheldon Square) and a giant snow globe takes over Sheldon Square as Paddington Central, situated on the picturesque Grand Union Canal near Little Venice, kicks off its countdown to Christmas.

On 18th December a giant Snow Globe will be taking centre stage in Sheldon Square from 11.30 to 16.30 as Paddington Central joins in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.
On the 22nd December Coca-Cola’s world famous Christmas truck is stopping off at Paddington Central. This is part of its nationwide tour which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the iconic ‘Holidays are Coming’ TV ad.
Paddington Central is running a variety of Christmas themed craft classes throughout November and December to help you make your gifts that little bit more personal.
