Dear London Mums
Super mega busy January is almost over! Breathe in and out slowly… Brace yourself soon for another Half Term with kids. But don’t despair. This February 2014 Newsletter is filled with tips for Things to do with the kids this School Half Term as well as career tips for Working mothers. You will also be inspired by our Valentine Gift guides for HIM and for HER. Plus we have compiled a useful list of School Half Term activities to do in London as well as in the comfort of your home (if the weather is gloomy).
At the beginning of January I made myself the big promise I would give up sugar (as in refined sugar not the natural source found in fruit) and the results have been amazing so far (3 weeks in my personal challenge): my skin is glowing, I don’t have any cravings and I don’t feel the need for sugar. It is incredible! It seems tough to give up cakes, biscuits etc but actually once you stop eating sugar your body does not crave any other sugary stuff so it is quite easy after the first three or four days. Try it! I will report back more about this challenge and the benefits of not eating sugar and how to replace it. Watch this space!
My second big challenge on a professional level I set myself at the beginning of January was to improve the SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) on my website. Well, it seems quite technical (and it is) but SEO is simply what underlies any website and drives the traffic to it if done properly. I will share all the secrets I have learnt in my journey in a new workshop on 12th March 2014. It will only be a small group. We will do it again if it proves popular like the previous seminars we have run.
To register for this event, you can either pay by PayPal by clicking on this button here
or email us at email@example.com and we will send you bank details.
Couples with kids don’t always have time to celebratate Valentine Day but they tend to buy gifts anyway as a token of their love. I have compiled a list of Valentine Gift ideas to inspire you.
Keep the kids busy this half term. We have listed the best activities in London in our events’ calendar. Check it out and book early to avoid disappointed. I heard they get all sold out quickly.
Check out our ideas for scientific experiments for kids to do at home (they are easy, don’t panic!).
In our get creative section we have posted lots of ideas for simple art & craft activities, educational games and junk art projects. No need to panic over how to entertain the kids this Half Term and also no need to spend money. In fact lots of our creative projects involve making things out of junk such as our junk dolls. https://londonmumsmagazine.com/category/mums-tips/get-creative. There are great books that teach how to make crafty things with the kids. Some of my favourite are listed here.
Our favourite guest blogger and London Mums very own photographer Michael Shilling will be a dad soon and is recording his own pregnancy diary here on our website. I love his male perspective and I hope you enjoy it too.
