Meccano Exhibition comes to Hainault

A day of fun for all the family awaits you at the North East London Meccano Club’s annual exhibition on Saturday 7th December at Hainault Baptist Church.

Meccano See Saw

Just in case you haven’t heard of Meccano, it is a construction toy which was invented in 1901 by Frank Hornby. With it boys and girls can build models of anything they can imagine, from cars and cranes to fairground rides and bridges, and in the process learn the principles of engineering and mechanics, making it a great educational toy.

It being the 150th anniversary of Frank Hornby’s birth, the club’s exhibition this year will also feature Hornby Model Railways and Dinky Toys in addition to Meccano models of all sizes.

Whether you are an active modeller, collector, armchair-enthusiast or just satisfying a nostalgic yearning, you’ll find lots to do and see. There’ll be working models, trade stands, a raffle, competitions and refreshments available all day.
