Barnes Children’s Literature Festival 14-15 May 2016

Good news for bookworms! The Barnes Children’s Literature Festival is back for the second year on 14th & 15th May 2016. If you love sharing stories with your little ones, this is an opportunity to have a great day out in beautiful Barnes and meet some top authors and illustrators, with talks, workshops and book signings taking place all weekend.

With more than fifty events on offer there is plenty to choose from, including some of the biggest names from the world of children’s books. Find out how Charlie and Lola creator Lauren Child creates her eye-catching artwork, join Sir Charlie Stinky Socks in author & illustrator Kristina Stephenson’s fun musical extravaganza, and meet TV stars Cerrie Burnell (CBeebies) and Danny Wallace, who both now write children’s books. You can also meet and get books signed by bestselling authors Jacqueline Wilson, Cathy Cassidy and Jeremy Strong, to name just a few.

Author talks and panel discussions for older children feature some of the most talked about teen authors, including Lisa Williamson, Holly Bourne and Sarah Crossan, offering their take on the current hot topics in teen fiction.

There are also some fun interactive sessions on offer to keep busy children entertained, including Horrible Science, Roald Dahl & the Imagination Seekers, and various craft & story time events for the really little ones.

Events take place throughout the weekend of 14th & 15th May on and around Barnes Pond, SW13.
