Zog is known to families up and down the country as the keen young dragon who bumps, burns and roars his way through Madam Dragon’s school in pursuit of a gold star. Over the last 9 years, he has become one of the best-loved characters in children’s literature, winning a Galaxy National Children’s Book of the Year Award, becoming a perennial bestseller, and even making his screen debut on Christmas Day 2018, when Magic Light Pictures premiered an animated film of Zog on BBC One featuring an all-star cast.
Zog is one of the many creations of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the UK’s number one picture book pair, who have dreamed up countless stories for young children including modern classic The Gruffalo, which has been translated into in 75 languages.
Now Zog has made the journey from page to stage thanks to Freckle Productions, who have adapted many of Julia’s best-loved titles including Stick Man, Tiddler and other Terrific Tales and Tabby McTat. Their brand-new adaptation has been touring the country, and will fly into London at Cadogan Hall for four weeks only this summer, from 31 July to 25 August. The production features a multi-talented cast of actors, musicians and puppeteers, who bring the world of Zog to life with handcrafted puppets and an original folk score played live.
To celebrate the arrive of Zog on stage in London, we have a fantastic Zog prize bundle to give away! The winner will receive a family ticket (four tickets) to see a performance of their choice at Cadogan Hall, plus a goody bag including an activity book, a plush toy and a DVD of the Magic Light/BBC animation.
