a Rafflecopter giveaway There’s no doubt about the power of mums as big spenders as well as decision makers when it comes to household and family products. That’s why mums are at the core of the selection process for the products nominated for the prestigious Product of the Year Awards. And that’s why for the last five years I have been part of the judging team involved in selecting the products that are put forward to the public for voting.
The Winners
Spot the intruders! You should be able to see me and my friend and fellow blogger Mirka Moore from All Baby Advice in this picture. Can you see us as we cheekily sneaked into the winners’ picture?
This year’s Product of the Year winners were drawn from 42 diverse categories including time-saving products, convenience goods, health-boosting and functional foods.
Gorgeous looking trophies
Voted for by almost 12,000 households, these products demonstrate the trends that matter to shoppers.
My favourite winning products include:
Tetley Green Tea – Lemon and Honey flavour
Activia layered yogurth – prune flavour
Energizer EcoAdvanced – The first AA battery made with recycled batteries, this responds to demand for waste-reducing products. Containing 4% of recycled batteries by weight, it lets responsible consumers power gadgets without compromising on performance.
Loctite 60 Seconds – With consumers looking for speed of use and convenience in their products, Loctite spotted a gap in the market: existing all-purpose glues (APGs) taking several hours to dry. Loctite has responded with this quick-drying APG that takes just one minute to set.
Asda Little Angels Extra Protection Wipes – Consumers are looking for active ingredients in their products – and Asda has responded by introducing these barrier-lotion-enriched baby wipes that help to protect against nappy rash.
The best and heaviest goodie bags in the world! I had to get a luggage to carry this home. Great products!
The Product of the Year Awards 2016 took place this January and was even better than previous years. The venue was the majestic Hilton Park Lane Hotel and the entertainment was led by comedian Rory Bremner – particularly famous for his Tony Blair impersonation – and by X-Factor girl band 4th Impact.
You can watch the full video of Rory Bremner’s brilliant show at Product of the Year Awards 2016 here on the London Mums YouTube channel.
After the show I posted a few short clips of 4th Impact on Instagram and was overwhelmed by the requests for videos of this clearly hugely popular band. So I have posted them both on the London Mums YouTube channel. That’s the power of social media. Enjoy the clips and the official images of the girls.
