One lucky family (2+2) can join us on any one day of the War and Peace Revival show at Folkestone Racecourse 22-26 July 2015 and enjoy afternoon tea in our vintage Spitfire tea room plus a 1940s hair make for mum, courtesy of the Hairaid Shelter!
The War and Peace Revival returns to Folkestone Racecourse this year from 22-26 July 2015. Featuring military and civilian re-enactors, living history, battle reenactments and arena events, military vehicles, vintage entertainment, book signings, shopping, funfair classic cars, models, vintage fashion features and makeovers and much more – it’s a great family day out! Live music day and night gives a real festival feel to the world’s biggest military vehicle event.
Join us as we commemorate the 75th anniversaries of the Dunkirk Evacuation and the incredible Battle of Britain. We’re also celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Gurkha service to the Crown, the 70th anniversary of VE and VJ Day and continuing to recognise with centenary of WW1. Drop into the Great War Exhibition through an above-ground trench system to learn more about this conflict. View the beautifully preserved uniforms and personal items, before taking a wander through a second trench set in winter on the western front.
Visit the Vintage Village to see incredible Home Front displays including Land Army (with real cows!), WVS, a WW2-pub, village shop and post office and lots more. Meet WW2 veterans and listen to their incredible tales of when they were “just doing their job” or take part in our Drumhead Service and Veterans’ parade on the Saturday.
Spend time wandering through the Vintage Market Place, packed full of stalls selling genuine vintage or retro clothes, homewares and memorabilia or wander the hundreds of trade stands selling everything from a button to a tank (yes really!)
Enjoy afternoon tea in the Spitfire tea room, see the beautiful classic cars and support vehicles, then drop into the Jazz Bar for a bit of swing!
Take part in dance lessons in the Vintage Marquee then try out your moves in the evening in the vintage clothes you find in the trade stalls. Not sure where to start?
Take inspiration at our daily fashion events and hair and beauty demonstrations. In the Victory Marquee, enjoy an exciting programme of entertainment, with singers, entertainers, big bands and dancers and book signings before catching up with the original cast of Allo Allo!
On Friday 24 and Saturday 25 July we have ticketed evening events; Friday sees the return of the fabulous Jive Aces, while Saturday welcomes the John Miller Orchestra performing for a special VE Day celebration in a dine and dance spectacular! Or book a seat at a table hosted by one of the six Allo Allo celebrities!
Cannot wait to win?! Tickets can be booked through: 01304 813337 or 813945!
