On Book Lovers’ Day London Mums have five copies of The Book of Comparisons to give away.
The Book of Comparisons by Clive Gifford will be published on 30th August 2018 but we have managed to get a sneak peak into it and thought it was truly amazing. For just £14.99 children from 7+ will be guided into observing things around us in a different way. After reading this book, they’ll never look at the world in the same way again! From small to big, from fast to slow, from light to heavy, from high to low, this book contains hundreds of astounding comparisons and amazing facts.
For example, did you know that a cheetah and a Porsche can both accelerate from 0 to 70 mph in just three seconds? That the moon is only slightly narrower than the width of Australia? That the tallest tree in the world, the giant sequoia, is the same height as a 26-story building? Or that length of a blue whale is the same as 19 humans swimming one behind the other?
This exciting picture book for curious kids measures and compares a huge variety of different subjects: the strongest animals, the biggest poopers and eaters, the amount of water in the oceans, the deadliest creatures and disasters, extreme journeys, altitudes and depths, the power of natural forces, dimensions of manmade structures, speeds of the fastest vehicles, and the capabilities of super machines.
Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize winner Clive Gifford is an award-winning author of more than 200 books for children and young adults. His titles published by Ivy Kids include The Human Body in 30 Seconds, Brain Twisters, and Eye Benders.
Paul Boston studied illustration and design at Brighton University, and is inspired by 1950s children’s books, antique maps and diagrams, 17th Century engravings, Gothic art and Japanese prints.
For your chance to win one of five copies of the Book of Comparisons, subscribe to the London Mums’ Instagram and write the name of your favorite book of all time in the competition form below this post. Deadline to enter is midnight on 1st October 2018.
