KENNY WRIGHT: SUPERHERO is James Patterson’s newest illustrated novel for young readers. Featuring more than 150 pieces of line art and comic-style sequences, Patterson’s book is a genuinely funny yet poignant look at middle school in a challenging urban setting, where a child’s life can depend on the everyday decisions he makes.
Kenny Wright is a sixth grade with a secret identity. He attends a tough inner city school, struggling with bullies, schoolwork and keeping his detentions secret from his ‘G-ma’. In his mind, he’s a world-famous superhero, Stainlezz Steel, who fights crime, saves lives and rescues helpless animals. In reality, he’s a chess club devotee knows as a ‘Grandma’s Boy’, a label that makes him an easy target for bullies. Kenny wants to bring a little more Steel to the real world, but the question is: can he recognise his own true strength before peer pressure forces him to make the worst choice of his life?
Kenny’s neighbourhood need him – can he step up in his real life and help his ‘G-ma’ save the best School Principal he’s ever had?
Take a look at this cartoon that shows Stainlezz Steel as the newest superhero at Union Public School based on James Patterson’s KENNY WRIGHT: SUPERHERO! (The book is called PUBLIC SCHOOL SUPERHERO in the USA) He’s strong, he’s fast, and you never know when he might show up!
For your chance to win one of these books, please write the name of your favourite superhero of all times in the competition form below this post. Deadline to enter is 10th July 2015.
