Providing you with a unique perspective on baby’s development, Bondie Bird is proud to support core parenting skills. Safe in mummy or daddy’s arms, baby can enjoy the wonderful world of the Playwrap™ textures, colours, patterns and sounds – turning playtime into precious time, anywhere you go.
Experts agree…
Stimulating the ‘sensorimotor system’ is pivotal to social, cognitive, emotional, and educational development, and foundations are laid in infancy. Bondie Bird’s Playwrap™ encourages these skills whilst the unique wearable design allows parents participate in the experience – the NCT and major high street stockists already agree!
Dr. Michael Marciewicz, Consultant Paediatrician at the Chelsea & Westminister Hospital, and BUPA Cromwell Hospital commented: “The Playwrap™ by Bondie Bird is an ideal sensory development toy for babies. Babies thrive in an environment where their sensory development is nurtured and stimulated, and Bondie Bird’s Playwrap™ does just that. The variety of textures, toys, colours and sounds allows babies to safely explore, whilst the wearable design allows parents and carers to actively participate in the learning experience.”
Entertain, engage, explore!
Featuring seven sensory toys including a squeaky crinkly butterfly and rotating jingle-bells, other favourites of your baby – such as a much loved dummy, bear or book – may also be added using the additional clips provided. The Playwrap™ features a retro design sure to appeal to design conscious parents and is also machine washable for both ease and care.
The Playwrap™ fastens around the shoulders but has soft suction pads built-in too so it can be attached to almost anything, anywhere! Folding up into its very own travel bag, ‘flying the nest’ becomes achievable – even at the drop of a feather. Other ways you and your baby can enjoy the Playwrap™ include:
· Wrap it around the parent or carer’s shoulders
· Wrap it around your baby’s waist
· Suction it to a high chair or table top
· In the car, or on the plane- wrap it around the head rest, or suction to the window as a sunshade
· Hang it from your baby’s cot
Meet the creator
Bondie Bird was set up in 2009 by Francine Lyle, a successful lawyer and recent mother of twins. Francine Lyle comments, “The Playwrap™ was born out of a genuine need. As a mother of twins, I was always looking for easy and practical ways to stimulate my babies. When they outgrew the play mat, I struggled to find fun and different toys to stimulate them with. At 6 months, they were fascinated by my beaded necklace and by pulling my hair. I imagined something tactile and portable, which would give me the option of watching them up close while they explored. A patient aunt was coincidently teaching me to sew and amongst the nappies and late nights I had my eureka Playwrap™ moment!”
Not a natural-born entrepreneur, Lyle identified the need for this type of product and initially set about creating something just for her own twins and friends. Their reaction to a range of home-crafted versions encouraged her to consider large scale manufacturing and to approach major high street stores.
