American Express presents BST Hyde Park brought together an impressive lineup of talented female artists, with P!NK headlining the event. Joined by the incomparable Gwen Stefani, Tinashe, and Lyra, the concert last night was a memorable experience for the 65,000+ crowd. P!NK’s show was filled with her signature aerial stunts and chart-topping hits, showcasing her energy and talent. Additionally, Gwen Stefani proved to be an excellent supporting artist, delivering an energetic performance that delighted fans.

P!NK’s unforgettable performance

P!NK, also known as Alecia Beth Moore Hart, astounded the audience with her incredible stage presence and extensive repertoire. The Summer Carnival tour set, adorned with a shimmering silver palm tree and four cranes for P!NK’s aerial acrobatics, provided a visually stunning backdrop.

Launching onto the stage attached to a bungee sling, she kicked off the performance with the crowd-favourite “Get The Party Started” and continued with hits like “Raise Your Glass,” “Just Like A Pill,” and “Trustfall.” P!NK’s rousing vocals captivated the audience, and her trademark aerial stunts left everyone in awe, including fans who had travelled from Wales and other parts of the UK.

One of the highlights of the evening was when P!NK invited her daughter, Willow Sage Hart, on stage for a heartwarming performance of “Cover Me In Sunshine.” She also showcased her versatility by performing the melancholic “Kids In Love,” a song specially written for her by Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit. P!NK’s rendition of “No Ordinary Love,” originally by Sade, provided a beautiful backdrop to the sing-along of the more mature audience. Throughout the show, P!NK received various gifts from fans, emphasising the connection she has with her dedicated audience.

The electrifying set reached its crescendo with a breathtaking display of fireworks as P!NK soared through the air attached to bungee ropes, concluding the performance with her iconic anthem, “So What?” P!NK’s ability to command the stage, engage the crowd, and deliver an unforgettable performance solidified her status as a captivating live performer.

Gwen Stefani, the second headliner for the Great Oak Stage, proved to be an excellent complement to P!NK’s show. Stefani, exuding boundless energy, performed a dynamic set that delighted the audience.

The star performed a plethora of her much-loved solo hits, including “Sweet Escape,” “Hollaback Girl,” “Rich Girl,” and “Cool,” each complemented with iconic No Doubt anthems such as “Underneath It All,” “Hey Baby,” and “Don’t Speak.”

Stefani’s stage presence was infectious, and her genuine enthusiasm for performing in London after 16 years was palpable. She expressed her love for the city and gratitude to her fans, creating an unforgettable experience that left fans cheering and singing along to every word.

The 65,000+ attendees, including notable figures like Hugh Jackman and Emma Willis, were treated to a stellar lineup of female artists who empowered and entertained with their performances. The positive energy and sense of unity amongst the audience added to the overall experience, making it a celebration of music and female talent. The organisation and security were well-executed, although there was a slight inconvenience regarding the water refill stations, which were difficult to access once positioned to watch the headliners.

The 10th anniversary year was undoubtedly a resounding success, leaving fans eagerly anticipating future editions of this spectacular festival. I still remember watching my first Bon Jovi gig from the photographers’ pitch. Priceless!

Upcoming headliners for the next couple of days and weeks include Guns N’ Roses (30 June), Take That (1 July), BLACKPINK (2 July), Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (6 and 8 July), Billy Joel (7 July), and Lana Del Rey (9 July).
