Renovating your home will provide you with a haven from which to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Creating a home that is both functional and beautiful will encourage you to spend time there more often, host friends and family, and relax. Build a loft conversion

Building a loft conversion is the best way to increase the space in your home without having to add an addition. Update your tiling

The tiling in your kitchen and bathroom is often the first sign of disrepair in your home. Grouting cracks easily and can instantly make a room look unpolished. Updating your tiling gives you the chance to give your space a completely fresh look. It doesn’t require you to rip it all out and start again, either. If you like the current tiling, you can have the grout redone. Alternatively, you can refinish the tiles and paint them any color you’d like.

 

Instal recessed lighting

The lighting you choose for your home will set the mood and build ambiance in each room. A stark, overly bright light will create a sense of harshness. In some rooms, such as the kitchen or bathroom, you may opt for really bright lighting so that you can see what you’re doing, but it’s often unnecessary. Recessed lighting creates a beautiful ambiance as it’s an indirect form of lighting and won’t shine directly in anyone’s face. Go one better and put it on a dimmer switch so you can turn the lights up or down on a whim.

 

Revamp your kitchen cabinets

Kitchen cabinets face a lot of wear and tear due to consistent use. Beyond just making them look presentable again, you’ve got an opportunity to inject some personality into your space. Gone are the days of dull, wood cabinets. Now, anything goes! If you like a classic look, try painting them a crisp white with ornate, silver hardware. If you want to go for a bold look, paint them red with black hardware.

There are many period properties in London, and most of them didn’t come with double-glazing. Double-glazed windows boost your property value and also the energy efficiency of your home. They keep the heat in during the winter and the heat out during the summer. You can spot old windows a mile away, and a new set of windows will give your home a modern touch.
