So why not get back in to nature and enjoy some good old fashioned fun!

VAUXHALL CITY FARM

As well as being the most centrally located farm in London, Vauxhall City Farm has a free entry scheme. There’s an emphasis on education, with exciting interactive kids clubs running all week. You can brew your own delicious herbal tea, or learn to cook like a professional every Friday. Sound great? We think so! If there’s one attraction not to miss it’s the alpacas.

The adorable trio Tom, Ben and Jerry mill around in the gardens and enjoy scoffing a carrot… or four! There really is tons to do at Vauxhall farm, from riding the famous DJ the horse to booking your own private horse-riding lessons with BHS, ABRS and RDA instructors. Every weekend you can join the spinners in the workshop and learn how to change alpaca wool into yarn.

Kentish Town’s City Farm is a much appreciated patch of grass in this busy urban area. It’s a firm favourite for school trips and children’s parties. The volunteers help keep the farm ticking over, so donations go a long way. As with most community farms, they offer horse riding lessons in the week and every weekend they offer pony rides for young children. Other great activities include messy play and pottery!

SPITALFIELDS CITY FARM

The farm has several stunning gardens including a wild garden, vegetable garden and a grass road. This is probably the most picturesque of all London’s farms and the green gardens provide an unmatched tranquillity. The farm is renowned for putting on fun events and has an annual goat race every year, on the same day as the Oxford Boat race! They even host free nature- themed sessions for children and campfire cooking clubs.
