For a weekend of sharing green fields and joy with the family, there’s the Buddhafield Weekender 9th-11th July. With an awesome kids’ area, good food and plenty to do for you and the little people, you can relax knowing that everyone will have a great time. Re-centre yourself with meditation, bodywork or massage in our Healing Fields. All in a conscious, happy environment where children are welcome and appreciated.

The Kids Area
Come and help build the life and death mandala, try your hand at arts/crafts, have a go on the climbing frame, trampolines and swing-boats, play music, clown around, join a games session, chill in the free mint tea tee-pee and play the Buddha Wheel board game, dress up and go on processions, create plays from mostly Buddhist stories, listen to the storytelling, and maybe even participate in the big Festival opening and closing rituals.

We have been exploring different ways of introducing the young ones to the Dharma and this year we will be doing a dedicated kids/family yoga session in the kids area at 9am every day, and things like meditative ‘Story Journeys’ and “the chocolate meditation” will be timetabled on the kids area information blackboards, we are dedicated to continuing to explore what a kid’s area at a Buddhist Festival can offer to the next generation…..

There will be a fun, dedicated safe space for parents and toddlers and a separate ‘Be-Tween Ages Space’ for older children and teenagers to “hang out” in, hosting the “how to make parents do what you want them to workshop!” and other discussions…. with guitar class, arts and crafts, circus fire skills, martial arts, henna, hair braiding and nail art, campfire happenings and survival skills, yoga and meditation tasters.

Buddhfield is a registered charity. We live all over the UK, but we run a programme of camping activities in the South of England, focused around the teaching and practice of Buddhism and Buddhist meditation. We are perhaps best known for organising our own Festival and for the Buddhafield Cafe, which goes to festivals and fairs like Glastonbury, Sunrise and The Green Gathering. As well as this, we run an annual programme of meditation retreat camps and we cultivate on our own land.
There’s also got a week long event coming up in August which is a family-focused, part-retreat part-camping hybrid: https://buddhafield.com/retreats/village-2-family-friendly-retreat-2021-aug-2021
