It’s Star Wars week. The Force is strong so I decided to dine at one of the best new restaurants in Chelsea for a galactic gastronomic experience. Dinner at The Imperial totally exceeded my expectations. I was offered food that was worth of the best Michelin star restaurant except that the price is not as high. Look away now if you haven’t eaten yet.
As an Italian connoisseur of the finest cuisine, I always say that eating out is a five senses’ experience. Good food is clearly essential but you also need to feel comfortable and relaxed in the environment while you taste your food.
The Imperial, a stunning Victorian building on the Kings Road in the heart of the Chelsea Design Quarter, is certainly a very pleasant venue and ticks all the boxes for the perfect dining experience.
It was recently refurbished by its new owners, Eco Chic Restaurants entrepreneurs Alan Turtill, Kate MacWhirter, and New Zealander Nick MacGregor as Head Chef.

Fig Tart, Toasted Walnut, Goats Cheese, Honey Dressing
As it is Winter, the slow cooked meat was perfect and warming. It was super tender and juicy. Exactly as it should be.
Taking inspiration from around the world, all the dishes on the menu were designed using British and London grown produce. I love this concept and I wish many more restaurants did that instead of importing food from ‘a galaxy far far away’ (forgive my punt but it’s Star Wars week after all).
Dessert
The best pudding on the menu was bread and butter with white chocolate sauce. It was simply melting in my mouth. I am not a pudding person generally but I have to admit that this was a very light and nutritious dessert. I don’t regret any of its calories.
The decor is contemporary and relaxing.
The cherry on the cake was the amazing customer service.
Our Spanish waiter was very charming while he ensured that our experience was to remember.
It is difficult to find such a great restaurant in the heart of Chelsea which ticks so many boxes.
The Force is strong at the Imperial so you can have a truly galactic gastronomic experience.
May the Force be with you!
