Restaurant review: Zuaya London, a taste of Latin America in Kensington

Nestled in the heart of Kensington, Zuaya offers a Pan-Latin culinary experience with creative cocktails in an upscale setting. Zuaya aims to offer guests an unforgettable dining experience, blending local charm with a touch of wow factor. Next door to Como Garden (Italian restaurant which London Mums recently reviewed), I might have found my new favourite eatery in South West London.

Positives

The first thing that strikes you about Zuaya is its stunning interior decor. With stylish furniture and lush foliage, the ambience is both intimate and lively, making it ideal for various occasions, from lunch to dinner. The restaurant offers three distinct ambiences, including an outside terrace, providing guests with the perfect oasis in the bustling city.

The food at Zuaya is delicious, with a menu that takes you on an exciting culinary journey through Latin America. From small plates to mains, there’s a wide range of options to choose from, including meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes. The presentation adds a modern twist to South American tastes, creating a wonderful array of flavours.

The Argentinian steak was really excellent, moist and so tasty. All the tapas were not only beautifully presented but also bursting with delicate flavours.

The attentive staff at Zuaya ensure that guests have a great experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and excellent service. The resident DJ provides just the right ambient sounds, adding to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.

Negatives

While the food at Zuaya is excellent, some guests may find the prices to be on the higher side. For two persons, it’s easy to spend over £100, which may not be within everyone’s budget.

One area that could be improved is the dessert menu, which my friend and I found too sweet. Although the edible flowers on the Passion Fruit creme brule was delicious and so pretty.

Offering a wider variety of desserts with varying levels of sweetness could cater to different preferences.
