What a lovely evening we recently had at the Drury Club in Central London to celebrate Beefeater (the family friendly restaurant chain)’s 40th birthday!!!
We were welcomed by a lovely team who showed us to the venue’s entrance and from there we went down the stairs to reach a lovely open planned room. The ambience was very 70’s with dancers and music reminding us of how great life was back in those days. We were surrounded by TV screens showing a variety of different Beefeater TV ads bringing us back in time…it was quite funny to see some of the hairdos and clothes people used to wear!!!
We enjoyed the finest in 1970s inspired tracks courtesy of presenter, former model and DJ Laura Whitmore. A regular face on MTV Europe, Laura is the current host of ITV2’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! NOW!

In the club a variety of waiters were going around with delicious canapés including chicken balls/nuggets, fried prawns, garlic bread, meat skewers, mushroom delicacies as well as popcorn boxes resembling the ones from the cinemas in the 70s. Lots of utterly delicious nachos & dips too! All this lovely food was accompanied by either a choice of cocktails or wine from the bar.
Stars who helped celebrate with Beefeater on the night included former Made in Chelsea star and “Mrs. Professor Green”, Millie Mackintosh. Broadcaster Donna Air also joined festivities.

Entertainment included dancers and a male dancer going around the tables to invite shy guests 🙂
The official photographer had 70’s props to portrait the guests sitting on a very comfortable and lush sofa.
The experience was amazing even thought it ended with a bit of a funny moment as Vernon Kay was trying to give a speech while the Beefeater’s 4oth birthday cake was coming out but the microphone was not working…. But Vernon turned things around with a laugh and from the birthday cake came out the celebs singing happy birthday!!!

Last but not least the pudding was based on excellent profiteroles. What a great way to end a 40th birthday party!
Beefeater is a British brand that first fired up the grill in 1974, opening the doors to the Halfway House in Enfield and now has over 140 restaurants nationwide. The combination of quality steak, friendly service and relaxed surroundings made Beefeater a big hit in Britain in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and today is no different.
