The ingenuity of a group of seemingly run-of-the-mill objects that we encounter every day is highlighted in a new exhibition opening at the Science Museum this November 2011. Hidden Heroes – The Genius of Everyday Things examines the inspiration involved in items whose design and purpose are so well matched that they remain uncelebrated, but heavily used, in the fabric of our lives. The exhibition runs from 9 November 2011 to 5 June 2012.

On Sunday 27 May 2012 the
Natural History Museum will be holding its annual Big Nature Day event in the grounds of the
Museum in South Kensington. The free event, the largest of its kind in the UK, will host more than 52 nature groups and give visitors the chance to enjoy a hands-on, interactive and fun-filled day exploring the outdoors and nature as well as learning about the importance of wildlife and the environment.

La Catena D’Oro (The Golden Chain) is a new play in English and Italian by Penny Culliford at Theatro Technis, London. It is a modern twist on Commedia dell’Arte, an early form of Italian theatre which inspired Punch and Judy, pantomime and Charlie Chaplin, Norman Wisdom and circus clowns, Shakespeare’s fools and even Del Boy falling through the bar.
