Cornbury Music Festival – a fabulous finale for families in Cotswolds Oxfordshire 7-8-9 July 2017

Cornbury Music Festival is a lovingly crafted, high end, open-air party, the ultimate celebration of music and culture set in the heart of the Cotswolds at Great Tew Park, tailor-made for the whole family. London Mums cannot wait for it! This year in particular as this year's event, the 14th Cornbury, will be the last.  It's going to be a smashing farewell party with great artists including Bryan Adams, Chrissie Hynde, Kaiser Chiefs, Jools Holland, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Jack Savoretti, Scouting For Girls, Tom Chaplin (Keane), Imelda May, Right Said Fred, Midge Ure. No need to say that I particularly look forward to my teen idols Bryan Adams, Midge Ure and Sophie Ellis-Bextor as well as the Kaiser Chiefs.

Read my interview with Midge Ure to understand why I look forward to his concert at Cornbury Music Festival.

Midge Ure

Nicknamed ‘Poshstock’, England’s most upmarket festival, Cornbury, has featured many brilliant performers over the years. The festival has gained a reputation for its unique and friendly atmosphere, situated in the beautiful Cotswold location with its loyal audience of multi-generational families.

Bryan Adams

Cornbury is popular with the whole family, whatever their age.  It’s one of the safest, most relaxed festivals in the country. There’s music that appeals to everyone, a great range of child-friendly food and quiet camping.

All the family can enjoy world class street performers across the Festival site as well as the magnificent funfair. Cornbury Music Festival is the ultimate celebration of music and culture set in the heart of the Cotswolds. A country fair with a rock 'n' roll twist; a farmers' market with a dance floor; a local carnival with a contemporary soundtrack, a unique hybrid of a premium festival and quintessentially English village fete.

The Kids' Zone

The Kids’  Zone is a colourful, creative, friendly space right in the middle of the festival, in sight of the main stage, so families can drop in and out whilst seeing all the festival highlights. And, unlike other festivals, all activities are free - there is no need to book in advance, just turn up and join in.

Spread over three tents and an open area, the wide mix of activities also include free arts and crafts activities. Youngsters can learn to play the ukulele, create songs, find their inner rhythm at the Samba drumming workshops or pick up some new disco moves. There are children’s theatre and puppet shows and the ever-popular Circus Skills Workshop offering expert tuition in juggling, plate-spinning, diablo, unicycle, hula hoops and much more.

The Mayflower Project Teen Tent

The Mayflower Project Teen Tent is a comfortable and safe setting where young festival- goers can take part in workshops to learn new skills or just hang out with friends. The Teen Tent, with its comfy sofas has activities to distract them if they are bored but also gives them the freedom to do as much or as little as they wish, hanging out and making new friends.

There is something for everyone with a fantastic line-up over four stages, a comedy tent, brain-tingling literary talks, a creative kids zone, shed disco, head-to-toe healing in the Therapixie tent, a traditional funfair, an exclusive VIP area, beautiful campsites and a Pop Up Motel nestled in the estate’s rolling hills.
